The Biggest Modern Warfare III News From Today’s Call Of Duty Next Livestream

Call of Duty Modern Warfare III Unveils Exciting Multiplayer Updates

The highly anticipated release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare III brings with it a wealth of new updates to the game’s multiplayer mode. During the recent COD Next livestream event, developers shared exciting details about the new multiplayer modes, zombies, and warzone. If you missed the livestream or simply want a recap of all the major announcements, we’ve got you covered. Here are the biggest highlights from the COD Next Showcase.

Multiplayer Enhancements

The heart and soul of Call of Duty, the multiplayer mode, is back and better than ever. Modern Warfare III will feature sixteen maps from its predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. These maps have been optimized to accommodate newer game modes like Hardpoint and Kill Confirmed. Additionally, larger maps have been added to facilitate the Ground War mode, allowing for more players and expansive battlefields.

One notable change is the reworking of perks into gear items. Players can now equip gloves for faster reload speed or to scavenge items from fallen enemies. Boots reduce fall damage and increase movement speed, while gear items reduce damage from explosions or resist flash grenades. Weapon customization has also been taken to a new level with the introduction of Aftermarket Parts. By maxing out a weapon’s level and completing specific challenges, players can unlock these parts to completely personalize their firearms.

Returning features from previous games include map-voting, the classic red-dot minimap, and a health boost up to 150. Such improvements allow for longer gameplay and provide players with valuable information. Tac-Stance, a new shooting option, offers a slightly more precise alternative to hipfire while maintaining a wider spread compared to ADS. Quality-of-life improvements include faster mantle and slide speeds, as well as new animations for canceling slides and reloads.

One exciting addition to the multiplayer experience is the introduction of a brand-new mode called Cutthroat. This intense, close-quarters mode pits three teams of three against each other in fierce battles. With custom Loadouts, a moving flag, and intense three-way firefights, Cutthroat promises a thrilling gameplay experience.

Thrilling Return of Zombies

Modern Warfare III brings back the beloved Zombies mode, now with an exciting twist. Zombies is going open-world, featuring the largest map ever seen in the series, complete with vehicles. Players will load into the game as part of different squads, deciding whether to team up or go it alone. Survival becomes even more challenging as the Aether Storm slowly consumes the map over time.

This iteration of Zombies prioritizes long-term replayability. Players can collect blueprints and weapons that enhance their survivability in subsequent games. It is now possible to store weapons for future use, allowing players to start their next game with their favorite firearms such as the iconic ray gun. Blueprints also grant access to upgrades like the life-extending Juggernog.

The new map holds more than just hordes of zombies. Players will also face off against mercenaries hired by the game’s main antagonist. Survivors may even come face to face with one of the largest Zombies creatures ever witnessed in the mode. The truth behind Operation Deadbolt, the reason for enduring this zombie apocalypse, waits to be uncovered.

New Warzone Map: Urzikstan

The most significant announcement of the day revolves around Warzone’s newest map, Urzikstan. Described as a fusion of the Middle East and Eastern Europe, Urzikstan will launch with Warzone’s upcoming season in December. Boasting eleven points of interest, this map is sure to keep players engaged for hours.

  • Levin Resort
  • Popov Power
  • Zaravan City
  • Shahin Manor
  • Low Town
  • Orlov Military Base
  • Hadiqa Farms
  • Zaravan Suburbs
  • Old Town
  • Seaport District
  • Urzikstan Cargo

Adding to the excitement, the new Warzone map introduces horizontal ziplines, complementing the existing vertical ones. Players can also hop aboard a drivable train, granting them control over its movement. New Warzone-specific perks like Shrouded, which drops a smoke grenade when downed, and Resolute, which increases movement speed when hit, offer fresh strategies for survival.

Quality-of-Life Improvements

The Warzone update also brings several quality-of-life improvements to enhance gameplay. Gas masks are now automatically equipped when picked up, making survival smoother. Contracts are easier to locate, granting players access to valuable rewards. Additionally, swimming and climbing ladders automatically equip players with a sidearm pistol for self-defense.

In terms of character movement, improvements have been made to ensure smoother and faster gameplay. Sliding can now be canceled through jumping or crouching, and players can shoot while sliding, both in ADS and Tac-Stance. Similar to multiplayer, players will now start with a base health of 150.
