Confirmation of XDefiant’s ‘Preseason’ Release Delay
The highly anticipated release of XDefiant’s ‘Preseason’ has been pushed back, as the recent public test session revealed some “inconsistencies in the game experience” that need to be addressed before launch.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the XDefiant team expressed gratitude to the players for participating in the test session and acknowledged the need to resolve certain issues before the game can be released.
“Thank you to everyone who joined us in our recent Public Test Session and continues to support XDefiant,” the statement reads. “The PTS once again demonstrated your appreciation for our fast-paced gunplay, meticulously designed maps, objective-driven modes, and iconic Faction roster.
“However, it also exposed some inconsistencies in the game experience that must be addressed before the launch of our Preseason,” it continues. “Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Preseason of XDefiant.”
The statement assures players that the team is committed to resolving these issues and ensuring that XDefiant becomes a leading arcade shooter.
This latest delay comes just a month after the revelation that XDefiant had failed console certification. In August, executive producer Mark Rubin stated that if it had passed, the game would have been shipped by the end of the month. However, with the “Not Pass” result received in mid-August, the release was expected to be postponed to September or October after implementing necessary fixes.
Following this announcement, the exact release date of the game remains uncertain, as the team has not provided a new release window. However, XDefiant is still slated for release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC in the future.
Whether XDefiant will prove to be one of the best FPS games is yet to be seen. In the meantime, if you’re looking for a game to play right now, make sure to check out our selection of the best PC games.
