Achieving the Different Endings in Lords of the Fallen
In a Soulsborne game like Lords of the Fallen, multiple endings are desirable, and players aim to achieve all three of them. The choices that lead to these endings can be as simple as deciding whether or not to cleanse the beacons or which NPCs to kill. However, making the wrong choices can result in being locked out of the other endings. While players can search for hints within the game, here is a guide to make the journey to all three endings a bit easier.
Please note that this guide contains spoilers regarding certain NPCs and the choices you need to make. It is highly recommended that you complete the game at least once before reading to avoid spoilers.
All Lords of the Fallen Endings
As mentioned earlier, there are three different endings that players can achieve in LotF. Each ending rewards you with a new class. The endings and their respective class rewards are as follows:
- Radiance Ending – Class Reward: Radiant Purifier
- Inferno Ending – Class Reward: Putrid Child
- Umbral Ending – Class Reward: [No class reward mentioned]
Radiance Ending
The Radiance ending is the most straightforward one, requiring no special actions or deviations from the main path. Here is the step-by-step process to achieve this ending:
- Defeat the bosses guarding the beacons and cleanse all of them. The locations of these bosses are as follows:
- Forsaken Fen
- Upper Calrath
- Fief of the Chill Curse
- Tower of Penance
- The Empyrean
- Make your way to Bramis Castle and defeat the Iron Wayfarer along the way.
- Once inside the castle, find and defeat The Sundered Monarch.
- Locate and talk to the Effigy of Adyr.
- Proceed to the Rhogar realm and defeat Adyr the Bereft Exile.
Inferno Ending
The Inferno ending requires a slightly different approach. Instead of cleansing the beacons immediately, players must follow these steps:
- Beat the bosses guarding the beacons, but do not cleanse any of them.
- Go to the Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters and acquire the Rune of Adyr. If the Rune of Adyr is not found here, check if The Iron Wayfarer is still alive. If so, defeat him at the gates of Bramis Castle to obtain the rune.
- Make your way to Bramis Castle and defeat The Sundered Monarch.
- Find the Effigy of Adyr to transform your Rune of Adyr into the Empowered Rune of Adyr.
- Return to the beacons and use your new Rune to cleanse all of them.
- Go to The Empyrean and interact with Adyr, the Bereft Exile. Give him the Rune of Adyr.
- Use the Empowered Rune of Adyr on the red beacon and enter the mind of Judge Cleric, the Radiant Sentinel.
- Finally, speak to Iselle.
Umbral Ending
The Umbral ending is the most challenging one to achieve and requires the player to kill several NPCs. Follow these steps:
- Head to the Skyrest Bridge and purchase the Scouring Clump from Molhu for 1000 Vigor. This item is necessary to access Mother’s Lull.
- Go to the Revelation Depths and defeat The Unbroken Promise and Harrower Dervla the Pledged Knight to find the well. Use the well to reach Mother’s Lull.
- Interact with the Remnant in Mother’s Lull to obtain Damarose’s Seedpod.
- Return to Pilgrim’s Perch and use the Seedpod on Damarose.
- Go back to Mother’s Lull and interact with the same Remnant to acquire Gerlinde’s Seedpod. Remember, using this Seedpod will result in Gerlinde’s death, so only use it if there are no other purposes left for her.
- Make your way to the outskirts of Bramis Castle to find and defeat the Lightreaper, acquiring Lightreaper’s Parasite.
- Return to the Skyrest Bridge and use the newly obtained parasite on the column in Molhu’s room.
- Go back to Mother’s Lull and interact with the Remnant once more to obtain Melchior’s Seedpod.
- Go to the Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters and obtain the Rune of Adyr.
- Return to Mother’s Lull and give the Rune of Adyr to the Remnant to obtain the Withered Rune of Adyr.
- Defeat The Sundered Monarch at Bramis Castle and interact with the Effigy of Adyr.
- Find Melchior’s body and use his seedpod.
- Go back to Fief of the Chill Curse and locate The Iron Wayfarer.
- Use the Withered Rune of Adyr on The Iron Wayfarer to acquire Harkyn’s Umbral Parasite.
- Return to the Skyrest Bridge and use Harkyn’s Umbral Parasite on one of the columns.
- Talk to Molhu, then go back to the Skyrest Bridge.
- Interact with Pieta and select “Use Soulflay on Pieta”.
- Defeat Elianne the Starved to obtain Elianne’s Umbral Parasite.
- Use this parasite on the column in Molhu’s room.
- Talk to Molhu and choose “Enter Mother’s Lull”. This will activate the fourth and final floating platform.
- Use the platforms to reach the other side and interact with the Putrid Mother.
That’s all there is to it! By following this guide, you can achieve all three endings in Lords of the Fallen. And if you need any help with boss fights or other aspects of the game, feel free to reach out. Happy gaming!
