Call of Duty’s The Haunting Event: Halloween Comes to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone
The highly-anticipated Halloween event, The Haunting, is now live in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. This spooky event brings a host of exciting changes and additions, including a nighttime Al Mazrah map, demons, limited-time zombie modes, and a range of cosmetic rewards. Let’s dive into everything you need to know about this thrilling event.
The Haunting: Soul Capture Event
Similar to the popular Trophy Hunt event from Season 3, The Haunting introduces the new Soul Capture event. Players can now collect souls from eliminated opponents in all game modes, including multiplayer, battle royale, and DMZ. These souls can be banked and traded for rewards in the event tab, giving players even more incentive to dominate their opponents. Additionally, there are daily login rewards that offer Halloween-themed items like a pumpkin weapon charm and evil goat emblem.
New Map Changes and Modes
The Haunting event brings exciting map changes and modes for players to enjoy. In Warzone, players can take part in the Operation Nightmare event on a nighttime version of Al Mazrah. In this mode, players must work together to send monsters back to hell. Vondel map features two zombies-themed modes, Vondead and Zombie Royale, adding a thrilling twist to the gameplay. On the multiplayer side, players can explore the El Asilo map, which celebrates Día de Muertos, and the Embassy map, transformed into a nighttime zombie attack scene.
Spooky Limited-Time Equipment
For a limited time, players can experience the “haunted” versions of Modern Warfare 2’s equipment. The suppression mine field upgrade becomes the Sound Veil Scream variant, immersing players in a hallucinatory audio assault filled with screams. The decoy grenade tactical equipment now includes inhuman and monstrous sounds mixed with gunfire for an even more intense experience. Furthermore, the battle royale side of Warzone introduces the Haunted Box field upgrade, which refills plates, ammo, and equipment, but comes with the risk of a jump scare.
Halloween-Themed Bundles
Players can also find spooky Halloween-themed bundles in the in-game shop. These bundles include characters like Skeletor from the Masters of the Universe franchise and Ash Williams from the Evil Dead series, allowing players to add even more Halloween flair to their gameplay.
