Valve has just announced the arrival of its newest iteration of the Steam Deck. The new version, called the Steam Deck OLED, boasts several upgrades in both its technical capabilities and physical design and is set to go on sale next week.
One of the standout features of the Steam Deck OLED is its HDR OLED screen, which delivers more vibrant colors. Additionally, it comes equipped with a larger battery, offering an increased charge of 30-50% depending on the game being played. Valve has noted that the OLED screen consumes less power, contributing to the improved battery life.
The device also features an updated and more efficient AMD APU and Wi-Fi 6E, leading to downloads that are up to three times faster, with increased bandwidth and lower latency. The Steam Deck OLED also runs cooler, thanks to a larger fan and improved thermals. Overall, the device is 5% lighter than the original model.
