In anticipation of the upcoming release of Tekken 8, Bandai Namco, the developer and publisher, has unveiled a sneak peek at Leo Kliesen and his unique fighting style. While the complete lineup of the game has already been revealed, it’s exciting to see a familiar character in action.
The Art of Bajiquan in Tekken 8
The latest trailer for Tekken 8 showcases a display of Bajiquan mastery as Leo takes on Jin Kazama and Azucena. Long-time fans of the series will surely be eager to take command of the “Seeker of Truth” in the upcoming release.
Although Leo made his first appearance in Tekken 6, he is considered one of the newer additions to the iconic fighting series. With the game’s release dating back to 2007, including the arcade version, Leo has been part of the roster for over 17 years.
Having been a mainstay on consoles and in arcades since the mid-1990s, the Tekken series has had a strong presence. The original PlayStation saw the release of the first installment in 1994, featuring eight main characters and ten unlockable ones. While the debut game may have aged, the series has continued to prosper.
With the much-anticipated eighth installment on the horizon, players can look forward to a lineup of over 30 characters to engage with and battle against. It’s truly remarkable that Bandai Namco Entertainment has been able to sustain the success of the franchise for nearly three decades.
Tekken 8 is set to launch on January 26, 2024, and will be compatible with the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
