Tony Todd’s Unused Dialogue in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
During a recent appearance at Fan Expo San Francisco, Tony Todd disclosed that a significant portion of dialogue he recorded as Venom for Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 did not make it into the final version of the game. According to attendee Evan Filarca, Todd mentioned that only 10% of his Venom dialogue was included in the game, and additional sub-plots, including one involving Miles Morales and the Venom symbiote, were scrapped.
No confirmation has been provided regarding Todd’s claim that 90% of Venom’s dialogue was unused. However, at the time of the game’s release, fans noted Venom’s limited dialogue, sparking speculation that the unused recordings could be reserved for future DLC or a Venom spin-off game. Fans are eager for news directly from Insomniac Games regarding this matter.
Insomniac Games Focused on Spider-Man 2
In an interview with Insider, Jon Paquette from Insomniac Games revealed that the studio is currently prioritizing Spider-Man 2 over the development of spin-off games, following the success of Miles Morales. Paquette stated, “So, here’s what we’re doing. We’re focused on Spider-Man 2 and what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna wait to see how the fans react. We’re gonna listen to the fans and we’re gonna ask ourselves, ‘Okay, what do the fans really want?’” He also indicated that it will be some time before discussions regarding future spin-offs take place, as the team plans to take a break before reconvening to plan for the future.
