How to Check WoW Classic Server Status
Since the much sought-after introduction of WoW Classic, World of Warcraft players have enjoyed the vanilla version of the game just before things changed with the first expansion, The Burning Crusade. But as with any online game, WoW Classic suffers from the occasional server instability, issues, and maintenance. This can catch any player by surprise, especially if you do not follow World of Warcraft’s customer support social media. But let’s not get spoilery yet.
If you are sure that your internet is fine and that you have paid the bill on time – man, just reminded myself to do so – then here are a couple of sites you can check to verify whether the WoW Classic servers are down or not:
- Visit the Blizzard Realm Status page. You will see the World of Warcraft, WoW Classic, and Wrath of the Witch King Classic realm status for each of the world’s regions.
- Check Blizzard’s Breaking News page. Blizzard will oftentimes report whenever scheduled maintenance happens. You can also check the Blizzard Support page for more help regarding other in-game issues.
- Follow Blizzard’s Customer Support X handles. Whether you are in America, Europe, Korea, or Taiwan, each region will share any updates regarding ongoing server issues or server maintenance for WoW Classic.
- Visit the World of Warcraft DownDetector page. While this is more of a general source of information that may encompass World of Warcraft as well as WoW Classic, it will help you out discarding whether the connectivity issues you are experiencing are only happening to you.

If the WoW Classic servers are up, then be sure to reset your router and PC, and use an Ethernet connection to make your online experience more stable. Otherwise, time to play the waiting game.
