Balloons are a late-game Toy item in LEGO Fortnite, so it may take a while before players can access them. To unlock the ability to build a Loom, players will first need to obtain the blueprint after getting the Flexhood and Sand Claws, and will need 9 Flexwood, 8 Flexwood Rod, and 6 Sand Claws to create it.

Next, use the Loom to create Silk Fabric using Silk from a spider. This will unlock the Balloon option under the Toys section of the crafting menu. To make a small Balloon, players will need 1 Silk Fabric, 1 Torch, and 1 Cord. For the larger variety, they will require 2 Silk Fabric, 1 Torch, and 1 Cord.

Using Balloons in LEGO Fortnite

On their own, Balloons will not elevate structures into the air, no matter how many are placed. However, when used in conjunction with the Dynamic Foundation, they can enable structures to take to the skies like a vehicle. A Dynamic Foundation can be crafted for 4 Flexwood, and placing a couple of Balloons at each corner will enable any structure built on the base to become airborne.

It is important to join several Dynamic Foundations together to create more space to work with. When placing Balloons, be cautious of balance. Imbalanced placement of Balloons can cause the entire structure to tilt, especially when ascending into the air.
