Fntastic, the developer behind the recent release of The Day Before on Steam Early Access, has announced its sudden closure.
A statement from the company, posted on Twitter, cited financial failure as the reason for the closure, with all income being used to settle debts to their partners.
The Day Before, despite the negative response, is still available for purchase on Steam for £33.50 in its Early Access version.
Fntastic expressed its disappointment in not being able to continue developing The Day Before, as it was their first ambitious project. They also clarified that no public money was taken during the game’s development and that their efforts were dedicated to its progress over the past five years.
The future of The Day Before is now uncertain, although servers will remain operational. The studio apologized for any unmet expectations and emphasized the challenging nature of game development.

Fntastic came under fire for utilizing unpaid volunteers during The Day Before’s development. Additionally, the game was involved in a trademark dispute with a Korean calendar app.
