Leaked Documents Suggest Insomniac Games May Be Working on Spider-Verse Game
Amidst a ransomware attack against Insomniac Games, leaked documents have revealed the possibility of the studio working on a Spider-Verse video game. The hackers obtained employee data and information about various projects, which has led to speculation about the studio’s upcoming works.
Insomniac Games is listed as working on three upcoming projects, including something called “RCE,” “Spider-Man 3,” and “Spider-???.” Additionally, the leaked images contain text that references “additional support for Spider-Verse” being done by some employees.
Fans Speculating on the Game
Fans have quickly begun speculating on the nature of the rumored Spider-Verse project. Some rumors suggest it could be a multiplayer game, especially since Insomniac Games is confirmed to be working on a multiplayer game alongside Wolverine. However, due to the sensitive nature of the leaked documents, it’s unlikely the studio will comment on the matter.
While the details remain unclear, hints of the Spider-Verse did appear in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, including in a major side mission of the game which involved collecting Spider-bots that appeared throughout the world, ultimately leading to another universe.
