Death Stranding’s iPhone, iPad, and Mac Release Delayed
Originally set to arrive sometime this year, the release of Death Stranding for iPhone, iPad, and Mac has been postponed until 2024, as announced by publisher 505 Games.
“We just need a little more time,” 505 wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter, earlier today.
We first heard about these Death Stranding ports in June when series creator Hideo Kojima expressed his long-time affinity for Apple products. He mentioned that it had been a dream of his to see his team’s best work come to life on the Mac.
During Apple’s WWDC 2023 keynote presentation, Kojima revealed that the studio’s support for Mac would begin later this year with the launch of Death Stranding Director’s Cut.
“This is just the beginning,” Kojima added, hinting at the studio’s active efforts to bring future Kojima titles to Apple’s platforms.
In September, the announcement of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max promised to run games such as Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Village, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and, of course, Death Stranding.
Additionally, Kojima is currently working on a sequel to Death Stranding, with a star-studded cast including Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna. The series’ original cast members, including Léa Seydoux, Norman Reedus, and Troy Baker, will also be returning.
Furthermore, Kojima recently unveiled his upcoming project known as OD, describing it as “a game and at the same time a movie and at the same time a new form of media.” This project has been developed alongside director Jordan Peele.
