Suicide Squad Developer Unveils Support Squad Features in Latest Video
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League developer Rocksteady Studios unveiled the second episode of Suicide Squad Insider, providing an in-depth look at the game’s mechanics and customization options, with a special focus on the Support Squad. This group of DC characters will aid the game’s antiheroes in their mission to take down Brainiac and the brainwashed Justice League.
One of the support characters in the upcoming Suicide Squad game is The Penguin, who serves as the Squad’s supplier of firearms. Players will have the ability to upgrade existing weapons and craft new ones. The firearms are from in-universe manufacturers such as Star Labs, AmerTek, and LexCorp, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. For example, AmerTek weapons have large magazines, a high rate of fire, and high recoil, while LexCorp guns have very precise recoil and spread patterns. The Penguin can also assist in crafting custom weapons in each style.
Another member of the Support Squad is the technological genius Gizmo, responsible for designing the Squad’s vehicles. Furthermore, Toy Man and Hack provide upgrades for the Squad’s gear and abilities, respectively. Hack’s abilities also allow players to intercept and listen in on the Justice League’s communications, revealing how Brainiac’s influence has altered their personalities.
Poison Ivy also makes a return, albeit in an unexpected form. Set after the Batman: Arkham games, in which Poison Ivy dies, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League features a reanimated Poison Ivy, now in the form of a child, regrown by Lex Luthor. Despite her new form, Poison Ivy still possesses the ability to create biological toxins that can apply elemental effects to the player’s weapons and grenades.
