CD Projekt Red Confirms Independence from Larger Corporations
CD Projekt Red has reiterated its commitment to maintaining independence and has no plans to be acquired by a larger corporation.
In a recent interview, CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kicinski stated, “We are not interested in being incorporated into some larger entity. We have worked all our lives to reach our current position. We believe that in a few years we will be even bigger and even stronger.”
Kicinski also confirmed that CD Projekt Red has no acquisitions planned and is not interested in mergers focused solely on consolidating financial results. This commitment to independence has been a core value for CD Projekt Red for years, and Kicinski’s remarks only solidify their stance.
He emphasized that CD Projekt Red’s independence is a crucial asset, especially as the company pursues ambitious plans for the future. Currently, the studio is actively working on several projects, including The Witcher 4 (codenamed Polaris), a remake of the first Witcher game, a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, and a new original IP (codenamed Hadar).
While the studio experienced layoffs last year, Kicinski assured that employment will remain stable as staff transitions between projects. He also expressed expectations for an increase in employment by 2025.
