Atlus Releases Astonishing New Intro Cinematic for Persona 3 Reload
The highly anticipated intro cinematic for Persona 3 Reload has been unveiled by Atlus, and it’s everything fans of the series have been waiting for.
After much anticipation, the remake of one of the PlayStation 2’s top RPGs is set to launch on February 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, last-gen consoles, as well as being available from day one on Xbox Game Pass. This stunning intro sequence has only added to the excitement for Persona 3 Reload.
Released on Atlus’s official YouTube channel, the animation begins with Persona 3’s protagonist scrolling through tracks on an MP3 player, setting the nostalgic tone for the game set in 2007. The player briefly references the original game’s opening theme, the outstanding Burn My Dread. However, the new intro song, titled Full Moon, Full Life, incorporates Burn My Dread’s leitmotif, with rapper Lotus Juice returning to lend his voice to Reload’s soundtrack alongside new vocalist Azumi Takahashi.
The opening animation showcases all the trademark elements of a Persona series intro. Vibrant colors are utilized throughout, standing out against the predominantly monochromatic backgrounds. The sequence also introduces the game’s cast of playable party members including Yukari Takeba, Junpei Iori, and Mitsuru Kirijo, providing a glimpse into their personalities and backgrounds.
For the uninitiated, Persona 3 Reload is a complete remake of the beloved PS2 original, which is fondly remembered as one of the console’s standout titles. In this turn-based RPG, a group of high school students venture into a supernatural tower called Tartarus that only appears during the Dark Hour – a mysterious period of time that occurs after midnight each day. Outside of Tartarus, players will navigate through the day-to-day activities at school and nurture relationships with party members to unlock more of their story and gain additional combat perks.
