New Fan-Made Portal 2 Mod Offers 40 New Test Chambers and a Fresh Story
A brand new fan mod for Portal 2 has just been released, providing players with the opportunity to tackle 40 new test chambers, complete with new mechanics and an original story. Developed by Second Face Software using a modified version of Portal 2: Community Edition, the mod, titled Portal: Revolution, offers an exciting expansion to the original game.
This fan-made mod is estimated to provide around eight hours of gameplay, featuring a new laser cube variant and puzzles that exclusively utilize the blue Portal Gun throughout the campaign.
The storyline of Revolution is set between the events of Portal and Portal 2. Players take on the role of a test subject awakened by a new personality sphere named Stirling. Stirling’s mission is to find a “powerful device capable of restoring Aperture to its former glory,” setting the stage for an undoubtedly eventful journey.
For those who are interested in experiencing Revolution, the mod requires ownership of Portal 2 on Steam, which is currently on sale for £0.85 / $0.99. The mod itself is free, and based on reviews, it is definitely worth the time investment.
If you’re a fan of Portal 2, there are other notable mods to explore, such as a fan-made VR mod that seamlessly incorporates virtual reality into the game, as well as Portal Reloaded, a mod that introduces a third portal and time travel for an added layer of challenge.
