Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare Returning to PlayStation
With the release of the new Alone in the Dark game looming, it appears that Sony has decided to revive the classic PS1 game, Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare.
However, there seems to be some confusion surrounding the announcement.
Initially, the PlayStation UK account revealed the game as part of the PS Plus Games Catalog update. It was also featured in a PlayStation Access video. However, both the tweet and the video were later deleted, and the video was reuploaded without any mention of Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare.
Despite the attempts to remove any trace of the announcement, evidence of the original reveal still exists, with screenshots of the deleted tweet and comments from users.
Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare is a standalone addition to the main series. The game follows the story of Edward Carnby and Aline Cedrac as they navigate Shadow Island while facing mysterious and evil creatures in their pursuit of ancient tablets.
It’s possible that the confusion surrounding the announcement could be attributed to the shifting release date of the new Alone in the Dark game. Originally set for January 16, 2024, the release date was later moved to March 20, 2024. This change may have led to the mishap in the PS Plus lineup announcement.
As the month progresses, more information about the PS Plus Classics for the month will likely become available.
