After investing more than 100 hours into BG3, I have yet to come across this elusive weapon. A Baldur’s Gate 3 player has managed to unearth an extremely rare Greatsword as early as Act 1.
While there are some fantastic weapons available at the start of the game, this particular one has largely gone unnoticed.
Extremely rare Greatsword discovered during Act 1 in Baldur’s Gate 3
The discovery of “Svartlebee’s Woundseeker” was shared on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit by the user “Silver-Scion”. This Uncommon Greatsword deals 2d6+4 Slashing damage and is said to be extremely rare to come across in a regular playthrough, which aligns with my experience.
The difficulty in obtaining this Greatsword stems from the fact that it is held by a random NPC (Gauntlet Yeva) in Waukeen’s Rest. The user also explained the narrow time window available to grab the weapon, emphasizing that failure to do so would result in having to confront NPCs for it.
You can acquire this weapon by utilizing the Command spell. Once you breach the door into the burning building, engage in turn-based mode and cast Command on Gauntlet Yeva, compelling her to drop her weapon. However, refrain from picking it up at this stage. Instead, complete the quest, then take a Long Rest.

You can then return to Waukeen’s Rest to claim the weapon. One standout feature of Svartlebee’s Woundseeker is its “Deepen the Wound” capability, which grants the wielder a 1d4 bonus to their attack rolls when targeting creatures that have already sustained damage.
The user also notes the usefulness of this feature for players with toggleable attributes that impose a -5 penalty to attack rolls, providing a means to balance the odds. Furthermore, the responses within the post delve into other rare swords that can be encountered in Baldur’s Gate 3. Some also recommend casting a blinding spell, such as Fog Cloud, to prevent Gauntlet Yeva from retrieving the sword before you can secure it.
