How to Obtain Forbearance in Destiny 2
Forbearance is among the many outstanding weapons introduced in the Witch Queen Expansion. It has swiftly gained popularity among Guardians and continues to be regarded as one of the best Legendary weapons in the game.
To acquire Forbearance, you’ll need to complete the Vow of the Disciple Raid. Specifically, it can be obtained from the third encounter, the Caretaker Boss fight, and the final Boss fight against Rhulk.
If you’re not interested in running the entire Raid for a chance at obtaining Forbearance, you can seek out a team with the checkpoint for either of these encounters and focus on farming that checkpoint.
It’s important to note that Raids only reward drops on your initial run each week per character.
This means that if you run the Raid on all three of your characters, you’ll have a total of six chances to obtain a Forbearance drop every week.
If Vow of the Disciple is the Featured Raid of the week, you’ll have the opportunity to farm these encounters an unlimited number of times in the hopes of securing a Forbearance drop.
Unfortunately, both of these Boss encounters are lengthy and not easy to farm. To stand a chance of obtaining a Forbearance drop, it’s crucial to team up with a capable Fireteam.
Keep in mind that these drops are random, so there’s no guarantee of receiving a Forbearance on your initial, second, or even tenth Raid clear.
Based on the number of drops in the Raid loot table, you’re more likely to receive armor pieces rather than a Forbearance drop.
Once you’ve obtained a single Forbearance drop, you can purchase additional rolls from the Boss Chest that appears after defeating Rhulk.
This will require Spoils of Conquest, which can be earned by completing Raid encounters in any Raid within Destiny 2.
Purchasing Forbearance drops provides the best opportunity to acquire one with a favorable set of Perks. With luck, you may even come across one with a red border.
Like every other Raid weapon in Vow of the Disciple, Forbearance is craftable. If you acquire five red border variants, you can unlock its crafting pattern and create your own god roll.
For experienced end-game players, an Adept variant of Forbearance is available to those who complete the Master difficulty version of Vow of the Disciple.
This Adept variant boasts increased base stats, an Adept Mod slot, and enhanced aesthetics.
It’s also important to note that the Vow of the Disciple Raid is only accessible to players who own the Witch Queen Expansion.
If you don’t see the Raid displayed on your Map, it’s likely that you do not own the Witch Queen Expansion DLC.
Is Forbearance Worth It?
Forbearance is a weapon that’s a staple in the Loadouts of nearly every veteran player of Destiny 2.
It has become essential for ad clearing and serves as the benchmark against which new weapons are judged for consideration.
Forbearance is a Legendary Arc Wave Frame Grenade Launcher that fires a projectile which transforms into an elemental wave upon impact, traveling across the ground and damaging enemies in its path.
Wave Frame Grenade Launchers are renowned for their effective ad clearing.
Forbearance takes it a step further with some incredibly potent Perks. The Chain Reaction Perk causes every final blow to explode and deal elemental damage to nearby enemies.
When used in a Wave Frame Grenade Launcher, this Perk can be extremely powerful.
A single shot not only eliminates any Minor enemies in a straight line, but also takes out any enemies clustered on either side of your initial shot, triggering a chain reaction of kills.
This Perk alone is exceptional and is the standout feature that makes Forbearance such a formidable weapon. It becomes even more potent when combined with Ambitious Assassin.
This Perk overflows the magazine when you reload shortly after scoring multiple kills with the weapon.
Typically, this means you’ll always have two shots ready with Forbearance, allowing you to spread devastation across the battlefield.
This combination of Ambitious Assassin and Chain Reaction is considered the best combination of Perks currently available for Wave Frame Grenade Launchers. No other Grenade Launcher offers as stacked a combination as this one.
These Perks also perfectly complement Forbearance’s Origin Trait, Souldrinker, which provides healing based on the number of enemies hit before reloading.
So not only does Forbearance efficiently deal with hordes of enemies, but it also keeps you alive in the process. It’s hard to ask for more from a Special weapon.
If you’re unlucky with your rolls, you can opt to replace Ambitious Assassin with Surplus for added reload speed, or Unrelenting for even more health regeneration effects, although Chain Reaction is a must for this weapon.
In terms of PvP, this weapon doesn’t offer any rolls that are worth serious consideration.
When crafting the perfect roll, it’s best to utilize the Quick Launch Barrel for enhanced Handling and Grenade Velocity, High-Velocity Rounds for further Velocity and Reload Speed, and the outstanding combination of Ambitious Assassin and Chain Reaction.
As for Masterworks, it ultimately comes down to personal preference. The player base is divided between using a Reload Speed, Velocity, Blast Radius, or Handling Masterwork.
Overall, Forbearance is an iconic weapon that appears to have secured its place in the meta.
It has long been the primary choice for wave clearing with Special weapons and is a strong addition if you’re looking to diversify your Loadouts in anticipation of The Final Shape Expansion.
You’re now equipped to embark on your quest to obtain your own Forbearance drop. Here’s hoping your luck is better than mine!
