Game developer Arthur Lee, also known as Mr. Podunkian, has revealed the title and planned release window of his new urban life sim game. The game, named Sunkissed City, has been in development for some time and Lee has been sharing teasers and insights into its creation on Twitter / X.
Sunkissed City will allow players to start a new life in the seaside metropolis of Apollo City. Players will have the opportunity to befriend locals, rejuvenate the city, take care of gardens, and more, according to the game’s new Steam synopsis.
The synopsis also sets the stage for the game’s plot, explaining, “As a fresh hire for the monolithic Pico corporation’s new ‘Peco Pioneer’ pilot program, you’ve been tasked with fostering a relationship with Apollo’s vibrant community and putting in a good word for Pico’s new eco-focused initiatives. But all is not well in these bustling streets. The local wildlife has begun to behave more aggressively, the waters are devoid of life, monsters are pouring out from the sewers, and that’s not to mention the constant migraines everyone’s been having lately.”
Furthermore, Sunkissed City will feature online and split-screen multiplayer co-op, allowing players to explore the city with friends and offering customizable-per-player accessibility and difficulty options.
Lee has set a target release window for the PC version of Sunkissed City in Q4 of 2024, and the game is currently available to wishlist on Steam. While no specific date has been announced, Q4 generally refers to a time between October and December.
Additionally, Lee mentioned on Twitter / X that Sunkissed City will “hopefully” arrive on consoles soon after the PC release, although the specific consoles have not been specified at this time.
