A new rumor is spreading that Konami may surprise release Silent Hill: The Short Message during today’s PlayStation State of Play. The game was initially rated for the PS5 in December 2022 but has not been officially announced yet.
What is Silent Hill: The Short Message?
Alleged screenshots of The Short Message, said to be a playable teaser, were first leaked in 2022 by insider Dusk Golem. The game’s existence was later confirmed by rating boards, with only a PS5 version mentioned so far. In November 2023, The Short Message’s entire plot was seemingly leaked by the Australian Classification Board, which also supported parts of Dusk Golem’s story details.
Now, Dusk Golem claims to have heard that not only will there be an announcement for the release date of Silent Hill 2 Remake at State of Play today, but also that Konami will surprise release The Short Message. The source personally believes the information to be true, but as always, it’s important to be cautious about such rumors.
Based on the information available, it seems like Silent Hill: The Short Message is not a full-fledged game. If Dusk Golem’s details are accurate, we will learn more about the title after 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET today.
