It appears that there’s some truth to the rumors about Hi-Fi Rush being expanded to the PS5 and Nintendo Switch, based on a recent datamine. The game’s update included files that indicate a possible multiplatform release.
Hi-Fi Rush is Making Its Way to PS5
The datamined files contain in-game t-shirts that strongly hint at a Nintendo Switch and PS5 release. While there were doubts about the authenticity of these images, Tom Warren from The Verge has verified that the leak is indeed legitimate.
Furthermore, speculations suggest that the green “Shadow Dropped” pertains to Hi-Fi Rush’s surprise release on Xbox last year. The Switch-themed red “Rock Out Anywhere” t-shirt likely alludes to the portability of the Switch, while the blue t-shirt’s “I’m Here, Baby!” seems to hint at the unexpectedness of an Xbox game making its way to PlayStation.
In addition to Hi-Fi Rush, another game heavily rumored for the PS5 is Rare’s Sea of Thieves. Well-known journalist Stephen Totilo reaffirmed his previous claims about the game’s PS5 release, indicating that it’s only a matter of time before Sea of Thieves lands on the PS5 in a recent interview with XEP.
