Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Pays Tribute to Legendary Voice Actor Kevin Conroy
Throughout most of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, players are treated to an over-the-top, quip-heavy action game set in Metropolis. However, the game takes a sudden shift in tone during a post-credits scene as a special tribute to the late Kevin Conroy, the legendary voice actor.
A Legendary Voice
Kevin Conroy was the iconic voice behind Batman since the premiere of Batman: The Animated Series in 1992. His portrayal of the Dark Knight made him the most recognized voice actor for the character, appearing in numerous DC Comics animated films and the popular Batman Arkham series from Rocksteady, the developer of Suicide Squad.
Conroy passed away in 2022 after battling cancer, but his work on Suicide Squad was completed prior to his death. The game, set in the same universe as the Arkham series, features Conroy in his renowned role as Batman. The full post-credits tribute to the talented actor can be viewed below through the fan-run Batman Arkham Videos on YouTube.
A Lasting Legacy
For many fans, Kevin Conroy will forever be the definitive voice of the caped crusader, surpassing Hollywood actors like Michael Keaton and Christian Bale. Thanks to Conroy and his long-time collaborator Mark Hamill, the voice of the Joker, Batman: The Animated Series is still lauded as one of the greatest animated shows of all time. The series even introduced the beloved character Harley Quinn, who has since become an iconic figure.
While Suicide Squad marks Conroy’s final performance as Batman in a video game, there are reportedly two more upcoming projects featuring his iconic voice. The game also provides insight into what happened to Batman after the events of Arkham Knight. The tribute to Kevin Conroy is a fitting honor to a legendary talent who has left an indelible mark on the world of Batman and beyond.
