Microsoft is poised to potentially change its exclusivity strategy for Xbox games. Xbox head Phil Spencer has announced a “business update event” for next week following reports that Microsoft is considering bringing titles such as Gears of War, Starfield, and the upcoming Indiana Jones to PlayStation.
Spencer took to Twitter to confirm the event and address the ongoing discussions, stating, “We’re listening and we hear you. We’ve been planning a business update event for next week, where we look forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned.”

Reports from Jeff Grubb of GameSpot’s sister site, Giant Bomb, suggest that Microsoft could be unveiling its new game-release strategy sooner than expected, potentially by the end of February.
In addition to the aforementioned titles, there have been rumors about Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush making their way to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, further fueling speculation about Microsoft’s evolving approach to platform exclusivity.
It’s important to note that Phil Spencer previously mentioned that Xbox exclusives would be evaluated on a “case-by-case basis,” particularly prior to Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Notably, there haven’t been discussions about other major exclusives like Halo Infinite or the upcoming Avowed.
