Square Enix Hints at Release Date Window for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3
Square Enix’s Naoki Hamaguchi recently teased the potential release date window for the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Part 3. Based on his comments, it looks like the third installment could potentially hit shelves in the early months of 2028, following a similar timeline seen with the previous FF7 installment.
Square Enix Makes Progress on FF7 Remake Part 3’s Script
During an interview with YouTuber Julien Chieze, Hamaguchi discussed the development progress of FF7 Remake Part 3. Although he couldn’t reveal too many specifics, Hamaguchi mentioned that the team has made significant headway in finalizing the script.
“Of course, I cannot tell you what stage we are at, but we have already made progress on the script and we are thinking about certain developments,” Hamaguchi said around the 41-minute mark in the video below. “When we got to the end of the development for Remake, we started talking about a sequel with [writer Kazushige Nojima] and I think we can say that we are in the same situation today.”
Given that the release dates for FF7 Remake and Rebirth were approximately four years apart, Hamaguchi’s recent statement hints at a potential early 2028 release window, or possibly even sooner.
