Fortnite has been jam-packed with content lately, with the recent additions of Fortnite Festival, Lego Fortnite, and Rocket Racing in December. Now, it’s time for a major shakeup with the upcoming launch of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2.
We may not have all the details yet, but thanks to some new additions in the game files with the 29.30 update, we have a sneak peek at what’s to come. It appears that the long-rumored Greek mythology season is finally becoming a reality.
The current Season 1 is set to conclude late on Thursday, March 7/early morning on March 8, depending on your time zone. Historically, new seasons have started the day after the previous one ended. So, get ready to dive into Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 on March 8.
Rumors have been swirling for months about a Greek mythology-themed season, especially with the Mediterranean scenery and Ruined Reels POI in the Chapter 5 map. Recent additions in the 29.30 patch further solidify this theme. Expect to see some prominent Greek mythology elements in the upcoming season.
While there won’t be a grand event like the Big Bang that ushered in Chapter 5, players can anticipate new quests and significant changes to the island as Season 1 draws to a close. A new character named Odyssey, donning ancient Greek armor, will introduce quests hinted at the mythology theme. Players will also witness a communal event involving Pandora’s Box, reminiscent of past community endeavors in Fortnite.
The map is on the verge of a major transformation, with the addition of Pandora’s Box being a focal point. Players will need to work together to unleash whatever lies within the box on the battle royale island.
The impending changes are set to take place after the TMNT event wraps up on Feb. 27.
While details on the Season 2 battle pass skins are scarce, it’s likely that Odyssey will be among them. Speculation also points to statues of Fish Thicc in a toga at Ruined Reels, hinting at potential future skins.
Collaboration skins for the Season 2 battle pass remain a mystery. With the Greek mythology theme, expect a range of Gaming Legends skins possibilities, including classic Kratos or Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Players may also see the return of the Norse-themed Kratos from God of War.
As a new season kicks off, players can look forward to a new starter pack and Save the World pack. The starter pack includes a skin, back bling, pickaxe, and 600 V-Bucks, while the Save the World pack offers access to the mode, quests for V-Bucks, and cosmetics. Excitingly, the starter pack skin will be Clara, a ballet dancer/assassin inspired by Red Sparrow. Additionally, the Save the World pack will feature Dr. Vinderbot as the exclusive skin.
Did you know? V-Bucks actually stands for Vindertech Bucks!
