Three Classic Mario Game Boy Games Coming to Switch Online
Today, in celebration of Mario Day, Nintendo has announced that three classic Mario Game Boy games will be added to its digital classics library on Tuesday, 12th March. The games include Dr Mario, Mario Golf, and Mario Tennis.
These games, originally released for Game Boy and Game Boy Color in 1990, 1999, and 2001, will join the lineup of titles available to play through Nintendo’s Switch Online subscription service.
If these classic Mario games are what you’ve been waiting for to subscribe to Switch Online, you can choose from one-, three-, or 12-month membership options. Along with these new additions, the subscription service offers a wide range of classic NES, Super NES, and Game Boy Nintendo titles. Additionally, new subscribers can enjoy a seven-day free trial.
On this Mario Day, Nintendo also revealed the release dates for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD – set to release on 23rd May and 27th June, respectively. Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto announced that a sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie is in the works and is expected to expand Mario’s world even further upon its release on 3rd April, 2026. Furthermore, new Lego Super Mario Kart sets are scheduled to launch in 2025.
