Ubisoft Unveils Content Roadmap for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Ubisoft has recently announced the upcoming roadmap of content for the metroidvania game Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
Shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), the 2024 roadmap details one update scheduled for this month, another in the spring, a third in the summer, and a fourth set for later in the year.
Upcoming Updates
The first free update, titled ‘Warrior’s Path,’ is set to release on March 20, 2024. This update will introduce a permadeath mode (one life per save file) and a speedrun mode, along with four new outfits for the game’s protagonist, Sargon.
The spring update will also include new outfits for Sargon and a Boss Rush mode, while the summer update appears to be the most significant. This third update will bring ‘Divine Trials’ mode featuring new challenges in combat, puzzles, and platforming. Additionally, new outfits for Sargon, amulets, and more will be included. The details regarding the fourth update, labeled as ‘New Story DLC,’ remain undisclosed at this time.
Ubisoft confirmed that the first three updates will be free of charge, but the same label was not specified for the ‘New Story DLC’ portion of the roadmap graphic.
With the detailed updates now unveiled, fans have the opportunity to decide whether to revisit the game.
Our former editor-in-chief, Jake Tucker, praised the game upon release, stating that it “paints a picture of sustainable development as it infuses all the thrills of a modern AAA release into a smaller package. Heavy on ideas and experiments, this is top-notch.”
