Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson Partners with Amazon to Create Reality Show
Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson has announced a collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios to launch his very own reality TV show called Beast Games. This new game show competition is set to feature “over 1,000” contestants battling it out for a chance to walk away with a $5 million cash prize. While an official release date for Beast Games has not been confirmed, it will be available exclusively on Amazon’s Prime Video platform.
Hosted by Jimmy Donaldson
Donaldson will not only be the host of the show but will also be serving as an executive producer. While specific details about the competition are still scarce, it is mentioned that the show will be based on his popular YouTube series.
“My goal is to make the greatest show possible and prove YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms,” expressed Donaldson in a statement. He further added, “Amazon gave me the creative control I need to try and make it happen. I hope to make the YouTube community proud.”
Biggest Reality Competition Series
With a massive following on YouTube exceeding 245 million subscribers, Donaldson is known for his extravagant and daring content. Beast Games promises to elevate the excitement even further, claiming to be the “biggest reality competition series ever” with the “biggest single prize in the history of television and streaming.”
Inspired by Squid Games
The idea for Beast Games seems to have sparked following the immense success of Netflix’s Squid Game in 2021. Donaldson released a video titled “$456,000 Squid Game In Real Life!” which quickly became his most-viewed video, garnering over half a billion views. In response to this, Netflix also launched a reality show inspired by Squid Game, however, it did not receive as much attention as expected.
While Donaldson was not involved in the creation of Netflix’s show, he mentioned in a tweet that he could have potentially contributed significantly to the project. Only time will tell if Beast Games will live up to the expectations set by its creator.
