Stardew Valley’s 1.6 Update Now Available for PC Players
Stardew Valley fans on PC can rejoice as the highly anticipated 1.6 update is now live on Steam and GOG. Players on Microsoft’s PC Game Pass can also expect the update to roll out on Tuesday, as confirmed on the Stardew Valley Discord page. However, console and mobile players are still waiting for their turn to dive into the new content.
Where is Stardew Valley’s 1.6 Update Available?
If you’re playing Stardew Valley on macOS, Linux, or Windows PC, you can update to the 1.6 version right away. Simply head to your gaming platform of choice, whether it’s Steam, GOG, or Microsoft’s PC Game Pass, and initiate the update. PC Game Pass users may experience a slight delay in receiving the update compared to Steam and GOG players.
If you haven’t purchased the game yet, it is priced at $14.99 on GOG, $11.99 on Steam (with a 20% discount until March 21), and included at no extra cost for PC Game Pass subscribers.
When Can Console and Mobile Players Expect the 1.6 Update?
According to a Stardew Valley Discord moderator, there is currently no set release date for the update on console and mobile platforms. Developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone mentioned in February that these versions will receive the update shortly after the PC release on March 19.
What’s Included in the Patch?
The 1.6 update brings a wealth of new content to the game, including the Meadowlands Farm type, various secrets and Easter eggs, expanded multiplayer capabilities, and a slew of new customization options like 25 new hats, 280 additional furniture pieces, and the introduction of moss soup. Not to mention, players can now adorn their in-game pets with hats. For a detailed breakdown of the patch notes, check them out here.
