Using The Brine Effectively in Dragon’s Dogma 2
One of the most memorable moments I’ve experienced in Dragon’s Dogma 2 involved a Griffin meeting its demise in The Brine, disappearing into the depths of the sea. It seems that many players have also discovered the power of The Brine as a weapon in the game.
Mastering The Brine Technique
While my encounter with the Griffin was more coincidental, a Reddit user named Ataniphor has shared a strategic way to utilize The Brine to swiftly defeat enemies. By luring foes into deep water, Ataniphor was able to eliminate a formidable enemy like a Drake with ease. What’s great about this tactic is that it works regardless of your character’s vocation or build.
As demonstrated in the video, employing The Brine technique against bosses can yield significant rewards in terms of experience points and DCP. Ataniphor managed to gain 8,099 XP and 211 DCP effortlessly by using this method.
Specifically, this strategy works exceptionally well with Drakes due to their tendency to retreat when executing fire-breathing attacks. By positioning them near a body of water, you can guide them into The Brine, resulting in their immediate demise.
While this method can be applied to other enemies near water bodies, it may not be as straightforward as it is with Drakes. Sometimes, enemies may accidentally fall into The Brine, but such occurrences are rare.
One drawback of enemies perishing in The Brine is that you won’t be able to loot them. Given that bosses in Dragon’s Dogma 2 usually carry valuable items, you’ll miss out on potential loot if they meet their end in The Brine.
If your primary objective is to accumulate DCP and XP quickly, mastering The Brine technique is highly recommended. However, if looting is a priority for you, this method may not be the most optimal choice. Regardless of your strategy, ensure that you are equipped with top-tier weapons and armor to handle any situation in the game.
