Exploring Ghost Story Games’ New Project: Judas
It has been over a decade since the release of BioShock Infinite, and during this time, developer Ken Levine has been hard at work. Following the conclusion of the BioShock series, Levine and the team at Irrational Games hinted at a new game that would continue their tradition of narrative-focused, first-person gameplay while also introducing fresh concepts like “narrative Legos.”
In 2017, the studio rebranded itself as Ghost Story Games to signal a new chapter in its history. Finally, at the 2022 Game Awards, fans got a glimpse of the studio’s long-anticipated project, Judas.
Lucy had the opportunity to visit Ghost Story Games in Boston and spend five hours playing Judas. In a special episode of Spot On, she delves into the game’s vision, structure, unexpected rogue-lite elements, the innovative use of narrative LEGOs, and emphasizes that Judas is more than just a BioShock spin-off set in space.
