Yellow Brick Games Teases First Project
In 2020, indie studio Yellow Brick Games was formed by a group of industry veterans with extensive experience on major franchises like Dragon Age, Assassins’ Creed, and Mass Effect. After quietly working on their initial project, the team is preparing to unveil their creation to the world.
The studio recently shared a brief teaser of their upcoming first game, which remains untitled. According to a press release, this mysterious project is a fantasy action-adventure game set to be released in 2025. More details will be revealed on April 2 when IGN will present the game as an IGN First feature.
Concept Art Sneak Peek
As part of the announcement, Yellow Brick Games also unveiled two pieces of concept art, giving a glimpse into the visual style of their upcoming title.
Yellow Brick Games was co-founded by Thomas Giroux as CEO, Jeff Skalski as COO, Frédéric St-Laurent B as game director, and Mike Laidlaw as chief creative officer. With offices in Montreal and Quebec City, the studio currently has a team of 68 employees. The studio’s focus is on creating titles that emphasize deeply interactive spaces allowing player creativity to flourish, all within a “people first” work culture.
“We are thrilled to share this exciting news with our community. Self-publishing is a leap of faith, especially in the current turbulent industry climate, but it’s also an opportunity to take our destiny into our own hands and reach out directly to players and the wider gaming community during this release,” said Mike Laidlaw in a press release. “Our team has been hard at work for years, and we can’t wait to showcase our debut project to the world. It’s a huge milestone for us, and we see it as just the first step on what we hope will be a long and rewarding journey for the company, charting our own path, and growing our talents and products brick by brick.”
