Can You Wake Up Hypnos in Hades 2?
Players familiar with the first game of Hades may be wondering if it’s possible to wake up Hypnos in the sequel. In the original game, Hypnos would greet players upon their return to Tartarus, but his main duty was checking in the newly arrived Shades into the House of Hades. However, in Hades 2, it seems like he remains in a deep slumber.
No matter what you try, it doesn’t seem possible to wake up Hypnos in Hades 2 at the moment. Head right from Odysseus and you’ll find him peacefully sleeping in a hammock held by two shades.
If you want to experiment, you can offer him Nectar for some additional dialogue, but unfortunately, you won’t receive any Keepsake in return. In the first game, giving him Nectar would earn you a “Chthonic Coin Purse” that provided gold per encounter.
Could Hypnos Wake Up in Future Updates?
While it’s currently not feasible to wake Hypnos up in Hades 2, there’s a possibility that future updates may introduce this feature. With the game still in Early Access, developers might add new elements that allow players to rouse Hypnos from his deep slumber. In an initial interaction, Melinoe hints at finding a way to awaken Hypnos.
For now, Hypnos may serve as a motivator for players to progress and seek out Chronos, creating a sense of urgency in the game. Depending on how the story unfolds, there may even be a sequel in the future where Hypnos plays a more active role. But for now, it’s all speculation.
