Paradox Interactive Delays Life By You Once Again
Paradox Interactive has announced another delay for Life By You, the highly anticipated Sims-like game from its Paradox Tectonic studio. The company cited the need for “additional development time” and expressed reluctance to provide a new release date that they might not be able to meet.
This latest delay marks the third time that Life By You has been pushed back. Initially announced in March with promises of a fully open-world experience, real language conversations, customizable digital humans, and no loading screens, the game faced criticism for its bland art style, which led to its first delay.
Originally scheduled for an early access release on PC in September, Paradox postponed the launch to March of this year to improve visuals, user interface, and other aspects of the game. Subsequently, another delay was announced in February, pushing the release date to June 4th to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable experience for players during early access.
However, just two weeks before the June 4th deadline, Paradox revealed that Life By You would not be ready for launch as anticipated. In a recent statement, the publisher explained, “After much consideration, we regret to announce that we have decided to retract Life by You’s early access release date, previously set for June 4th. This was not an easy decision, especially since we understand the anticipation and excitement that many players have for the game. However, we believe that additional development time is needed.”
Paradox emphasized the importance of thorough planning and development before committing to a new release date. The series of delays for Life By You comes amid a challenging period for Paradox, with setbacks in the development and release of several other games in their lineup.
Despite not providing a new release date for Life By You at this time, Paradox has assured fans that they will share updates as soon as possible.
