All Wastelander Challenges in Fortnite and how to get them

Activating a Wastelander Challenge in Fortnite

Looking for some extra difficulty in your Fortnite game? Wastelander Challenges are here to provide just that. Some Fortnite quests even require you to take on these challenges and earn a Victory Royale with one active.

Currently, the only Fortnite Quest surrounding the Wastelander Challenges is the Jumpstart Quest, which requires you to start one. But soon, there will be a quest demanding you win a game with one active. So, be prepared for the challenge.

There are four Wastelander Beacons scattered around the Fortnite map, each broadcasting a challenge to you. If you choose to accept, these Wastelander Challenges will test your skills for the remainder of your session.

To find the locations of the Wastelander Beacons, head over to your Quests. Navigate to the Jumpstart Quests and select “Accept a Wastelander Challenge.” The locations of all the Wastelander Beacons will appear on the right. Choose one of them and place a marker over it to be shown its location in-game.

When you drop into the game next, visit the Wastelander Beacon to accept the challenge. Each beacon will offer you one of six random challenges. You can choose to accept or decline it, but once accepted, you cannot change it.

All Wastelander Challenges in Fortnite

There are six Wastelander Challenges in total in Fortnite. While it’s random which one you will receive, it’s helpful to know what challenges you could face.

Here are all the Wastelander Challenges in Fortnite:

Jammed ClipsCan no longer reload.
Full ThrottleTake 5 damage when not moving.
Perma-DamageHealth and Shield items can’t be used.

These Wastelander Challenges are no joke. They offer a hardcore experience, with the main incentive being to complete quests (although they are not available yet, leaks suggest they will be in the near future).

Pro tip: If you experience lag, avoid picking up challenges like The Floor Is Lava or Full Throttle. You might find yourself taking damage without being able to do anything about it. And remember, these challenges still apply even when using vehicles. There’s no easy way out!

Now that you know how to make your game significantly harder, why not go all out and earn the Fallout Power Armor to showcase your gaming skills?
