Stellar Blade Quietly Adds New Skimpy Outfits Following Censorship Controversy

Exciting News! Stellar Blade received a recent update with some hidden surprises that players might have missed in the patch notes. Developer SHIFT UP added two new daring Midsummer outfits to the game, sparking speculation that this addition was in response to player feedback regarding perceived censorship upon the game’s release on PS5 in April.

Unlocking the New Stellar Blade Midsummer Outfits

If you’re eager to get your hands on the new Midsummer Redhood and Midsummer Alice outfits, head over to Roxanne at the R Shop. These outfits, as pointed out by Twitter user @DENGOJIN, appear to be inspired by the original Holiday Rabbit and Cybernetic Bondage outfits for Eve. The latter two outfits were recently altered in version 1.002 to cover up more skin when worn by Eve.

Some players accused SHIFT UP of censorship when the design of the Holiday Rabbit and Cybernetic Bondage outfits was changed. However, CEO Hyung Tae-Kim clarified that the updated versions of these outfits were always intended to be the final versions. According to Tae-Kim, the outfits players saw in the demo were going to be revised regardless of player feedback.

In response to the controversy, the studio held internal discussions on how to address the situation. The outcome of these discussions appears to be the surprise introduction of the new Midsummer outfits in update 1.003. While not explicitly mentioned in the patch notes, Roxanne referred to the outfits as “a small gift for all of you.”

Update 1.003 also included three additional outfits: two Kunoichi suits available at Adam’s Safehouse and a Neurolink Suit. The Neurolink Suit can be acquired by defeating all the bosses in the new Boss Challenge mode. Along with these new outfits, the update resolved issues such as unplayable sections and glitched trophies.
