PvP multiplayer returns in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, alongside a new co-op mode

PvP Multiplayer and Co-op Mode Confirmed for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2

Exciting news for fans of the Warhammer 40,000 universe as it has been confirmed that PvP multiplayer will make its return in the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Additionally, a brand-new co-op mode called Operations Mode will be introduced to the game.

The announcement was made through a trailer released during the Warhammer Skulls Festival live stream, providing details on the multiplayer modes of the third-person shooter. Players who enjoyed the PvP modes like Annihilation, Seize Ground, and Capture & Control in the first game can look forward to experiencing them once again in the sequel.

Operations Mode in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will enable players to team up with one or two friends to take on alien foes. Both PvP and co-op modes will offer six unique classes for players to choose from, each with its own set of play styles and abilities. Whether you prefer the tanky Bulwark with a powerful combat shield or the stealthy Sniper equipped with a Camo Cloak, there’s a class for every playstyle.

Similar to the customization options available for Warhammer 40,000 tabletop miniatures, players will have the ability to customize the appearance of their Space Marine with different color palettes, decals, and armor designs. Some cosmetics can be earned through progression, while others will be part of a paid season pass. Post-launch, the game will receive free updates that introduce new content such as missions and weapons.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is scheduled for release on September 9, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. Players can already pre-order the game, choosing from four editions including a collector’s edition that includes all DLC at launch and a massive resin statue of a Space Marine.
