Warzone Developer Teases 120-Player Battle Royale

Upcoming Increase to 120-Player Matches in Call of Duty: Warzone

Raven Software, the developer behind Call of Duty: Warzone, recently hinted at the possibility of allowing players to engage in 120-player battle royale matches. While the mobile version of Warzone already supports this player count, the console and PC version currently max out at 100 players.

Raven Software Teases Expansion to 120-Player Matches

“120. BR,” tweeted Raven Software earlier this week, suggesting that an increase in player count for Warzone matches might be on the horizon. Although no further details were provided, fans can anticipate larger battles in the near future. The exact timing of this update remains uncertain, but it could potentially be included in the upcoming fourth season of Modern Warfare III. While not mentioned in the current roadmap, the expansion to 120 players could still be in the works. It’s also possible that Raven Software is still in the early stages of planning and hasn’t set a definitive timeline yet.

Players of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare may remember that the game initially supported up to 150 players in its Battle Royale mode. However, the developer decided to scale it back to 100 players last year in an effort to streamline matchmaking times and reduce the chaos of battles.

The most recent update for Warzone was released on the 14th, focusing on balancing adjustments, progression enhancements, and bug fixes. Additionally, the launch of Modern Warfare III Season 3 is scheduled for Wednesday, May 29, introducing new weapons, operators, and a Gundam crossover. Players will have the opportunity to customize their avatars with three different Mobile Suits. Warzone will see map modifications and new gameplay mechanics, along with a wealth of content for the Modern Warfare III multiplayer experience.
