Sony has officially revealed a PlayStation event scheduled for May 2024, but it’s not the Showcase many were anticipating. Instead, it will be a State of Play focused on games, with no news expected regarding the PS5 Pro.
PlayStation State of Play May 2024: When and where to watch, and what to expect
The State of Play will feature games for PS5 and PSVR 2, along with first-party PlayStation Studios exclusives set to release later in the year. This seems to confirm rumors of a new Astro Bot game coming in 2024. Sony has also confirmed that Firewalk Studios’ multiplayer game, Concord, will be launching this year.
The event is scheduled for tomorrow, May 30, at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET, which converts to May 31, 12 a.m. CEST / 7 a.m. JST. The State of Play will last over 30 minutes and will be livestreamed on PlayStation’s YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok platforms.
We will be embedding a livestream on PlayStation LifeStyle for our readers, so be sure to stay tuned.
It appears I owe an apology to those insiders for my earlier article, but the disappointment regarding the lack of a full Showcase remains.
