Listings for New Resident Evil Games Surface Online
Listings for several rumored Resident Evil games have appeared online, including one for Resident Evil 9.
As reported by Eurogamer, retail listings for PS5 versions of Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Resident Evil Zero, and Resident Evil 5 have been added to Play Asia, which also includes the next mainline title in the series, likely titled Resident Evil 9: Revenant Shadows.
“Resident Evil 9: Revenant Shadows is the latest installment in the iconic survival horror series by Capcom,” reads the product description. “This game continues the chilling legacy with a fresh story, new characters, and the return of familiar faces. Set in an expansive, terrifying world filled with new threats and mysteries, Revenant Shadows blends intense action, intricate puzzles, and the atmospheric dread that fans have come to love.”
Resident Evil 9‘s product listing features “preliminary” cover art, possibly AI-generated. Looking closely, it appears the characters behind the title could be Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine, though it’s hard to discern.
The listing for Resident Evil 5 on PS5 also shows preliminary artwork, using the original PS4 cover art, leaving fans speculating whether it’s a remake or a remaster.
“Promising to revolutionize the series by delivering an unbelievable level of detail, realism, and control, Resident Evil 5 is certain to bring new fans to the series,” the game description states, teasing new technology and incredible changes to the gameplay and world of Resident Evil.
Meanwhile, Code Veronica only displays the title “Biohazard Code: Veronica X” on a white background without any mention of substantial upgrades.
It seems Resident Evil Zero is the lone listing clearly labeled as an “HD remaster.”
As of now, the listings remain online, and Capcom has not commented on the leaked information.
Earlier reports from prominent leaker ‘Dusk Golem’ suggested that Capcom is working on remakes for Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil – Code: Veronica, downplaying expectations for a Resident Evil 9 reveal anytime soon.
Contrary to rumors, it was also clarified that the alleged Resident Evil 1: Remake and Resident Evil 5: Remake are not in development.
