How to Adjust Soulmask for Ultrawide Monitors
In the world of early access survival games, there are bound to be some issues that pop up. One such problem affecting Soulmask right now is that the game is nearly unplayable on ultrawide monitors with a 21:9 or 32:9 aspect ratio due to excessive zoom.
If you’re a Soulmask player using an ultrawide monitor, you may have noticed the lack of an FOV slider in the game settings. This means you can’t simply adjust the camera to your liking. However, there is a workaround that the Soulmask community has discovered to make the game more playable on a 21:9 or 32:9 display.
To make these adjustments, follow these steps:
- On Windows, search for and open “Run.”
- Type “%localappdata%” and click OK.
- Navigate to “AppDataLocalWSSavedConfigWindowsNoEditor”
- Open the Engine.ini file in a text editor like Notepad.
- At the bottom of the file, add “[/script/engine.localplayer]”
- Type “AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV” on the row beneath it.
These tweaks will adjust the FOV to better fit your monitor’s aspect ratio when playing Soulmask on an ultrawide display. While this solution is not perfect, it’s a temporary fix until the developers address the issue.
The Soulmask developers have acknowledged the problem with FOV on ultrawide monitors and have promised to work on a fix during the early access phase. Hopefully, a patch will be released soon to improve the gaming experience for players using ultrawide displays.
Despite these challenges, Soulmask still offers a compelling gaming experience, especially when playing with friends. If you’re struggling with the zoomed-in camera, consider running the game in windowed mode as a temporary solution.
