When playing Wuthering Waves and pulling for characters and weapons, you’ll receive special currencies known as Aftershocked Coral and Oscillated Coral. These currencies can be used to redeem consolation prizes after spending a significant amount of money on the gacha machine.

Out of the two currencies, Aftershocked Coral is the rarer one as it can only be obtained by pulling a 4-star or higher item. Oscillated Coral, on the other hand, is rewarded for everything else you do in the game. While acquiring the best items with Aftershocked Coral may take time, it is possible.

For both types of Coral in Wuthering Waves, the best investment is in Tides. Radiant Tides are particularly valuable as they are used to pull for limited characters and aren’t easily obtained from other sources. However, Forging Tides and Lustrous Tides can also be useful if you’re aiming to pull for weapons or standard characters. It’s highly recommended to save all your Aftershocked Coral for Radiant Tides unless you specifically want to save up for a Waveband to upgrade your favorite Resonator.

When it comes to Oscillated Coral, it’s also advisable to spend it on Tides, but there’s a limited amount of each type available each month in the exchange. Once you’ve acquired all available Tides, it’s best to either save the rest of your Coral for the next monthly reset or use them to purchase EXP materials like Resonance Potions, Energy Cores, and Sealed Tubes.

Opting to purchase upgrade materials with Coral can save you time and resources, but keep in mind that you might miss out on potential pulls in the future. As a general guideline, it’s recommended to hold onto all your Coral to purchase Tides during each monthly reset and only exchange Coral for EXP materials if necessary.
