Right at the start of my preview session, I was unexpectedly attacked by a fierce enemy, setting the tone for the entire adventure. This DLC brings a new level of challenge for Elden Ring veterans, while also serving as a homage to FromSoftware’s best work. It elevates the grandeur, intense boss fights, and dark humor of the base game to new heights. Not to mention, it offers a wider array of weapons and tools to enhance your gameplay experience.
The Land of Shadow, the new region introduced in this DLC, has a foreboding atmosphere unlike any other in the game. It delves into the forbidden death rituals and rites that challenge the prevailing beliefs enforced by the Golden Order. As you journey through this realm, you’ll encounter mysterious structures and hints of a dark past that adds layers to the lore of Elden Ring.
Exploring the Land of Shadow reveals remnants of past atrocities, hinting at the tyrannical rule of Messmer and the twisted legacy left behind. As I delved deeper into the DLC during my preview session, I realized that the Land of Shadow held many more secrets and challenges than I initially anticipated. The culmination of my experience in the preview left me eagerly anticipating the full release of Shadow of the Erdtree and the adventures that await in this dark and enigmatic world.
