Nightdive Studios Revealed as Developer for Killing Time: Resurrected

The announcement of Killing Time: Resurrected has been revealed ahead of the game’s official unveiling at tomorrow’s Guerrilla Collective show. While specific details about the game are currently limited, fans can expect more information to be confirmed during the event. One key detail we do know is the studio responsible for remastering this horror-themed first-person shooter.

Nightdive Studios takes on another remaster

As the developer behind Killing Time: Resurrected, Nightdive Studios has showcased their expertise in remastering classic titles such as System Shock, Quake, Turok, and the recent PO’ed Definitive Edition. The leak of the game was confirmed by the studio in a tweet from Guerrilla Collective, teasing fans to tune in for the reveal tomorrow at 10am PT, 1pm ET.

Killing Time was originally developed by Studio 3DO in 1995 for the Panasonic 3DO console and eventually made its way to PC. The game’s storyline unfolds after the Summer Solstice of 1932, where heiress Tess Conway goes missing after her ill-fated attempt to use an Ancient Egyptian artifact for eternal life. Players take on the role of an Egyptology student, navigating through an estate filled with ghosts, demons, and the undead.

Armed with weapons like a crowbar, pistols, and a shotgun, players also wield a magical Ankh to combat hordes of enemies. The game’s mix of 3D graphics and live-action cutscenes without loading screens added to its unique charm. Fans are eagerly anticipating updates for modern platforms, which hopefully will be revealed tomorrow along with a potential release date.
