Looks like Sony’s live-service sci-fi shooter Concord will launch with a £35 price tag

Introduction

Sony’s upcoming 5v5 sci-fi shooter game, Concord, seems to have taken inspiration from the successful live-service model of Helldivers 2 by offering a relatively affordable price tag of £35.

Details on Concord

FireWalk Studios, a studio under Sony, announced Concord with limited information last May. However, more details were unveiled during the recent PlayStation State of Play event. Concord is described as a 5v5 first-person shooter, reminiscent of Overwatch, featuring 16 launch characters, various modes, and maps.

Pricing Strategy

Despite some skepticism from PlayStation fans regarding Concord’s live-service approach, Sony seems to be following a similar pricing strategy to Helldivers 2. The Australian PlayStation Store has listed the Standard Edition of Concord for $59.95 AUD and the Digital Deluxe Edition for $94.95 AUD, mirroring the pricing of Helldivers 2. This suggests that Concord will likely be priced at £34.99/$39.99 (£49.99/$59.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition) in the US and UK.

The Digital Deluxe Edition of Concord includes perks such as three days of early access, 16 character skins, and a Monarch Pack with exclusive skins. Pre-order customers will also gain access to the beta, slated for launch in July.
