Sega’s highly anticipated Switch exclusive, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, is set to feature a special guest appearance from iconic characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy will be joining the party via the ‘Sega Pass’ DLC.

The DLC will be included in the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, priced at £59.99, or can be purchased separately for £22.29. While the standalone price may seem a bit steep, fans of both franchises may find the crossover content worth it.

Along with the Sonic characters, players will also receive 15 bonus SEGA-themed character customization items. The in-game levels will see a transformation, replacing bananas with gold rings. Additionally, two more characters are slated for release at a later date, although Sega has not disclosed their identities yet.

Although the official release date for the game is set for June 25, 2024, Sega has indicated that the Sega Pass content will be rolled out gradually over the following months. This means that players may not have immediate access to the Sonic characters upon launch.
