Monster Hunter Wilds trailer debuts at Summer Game Fest with bombastic new trailer, crossplay confirmed

A Sneak Peek at Monster Hunter Wilds

A fresh trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds was unveiled during this year’s Summer Game Fest, showcasing some exciting new features. It was revealed that the game will include crossplay functionality between consoles and PC, promising a unified gaming experience for all players.

Set to launch in 2025, the latest trailer for the highly anticipated Capcom game emphasized the narrative elements, highlighting extensive voice acting throughout various cutscenes. In a notable first for the series, the player’s hunter will have a fully voiced character.

The trailer provided a glimpse of gameplay where the hunter and their companions navigate through a treacherous sandstorm while facing off against imposing monsters. Additionally, players can now seamlessly switch between two different weapon types, adding a new layer of strategy to the gameplay.

Introducing a new formidable opponent, the trailer showcased a monstrous creature resembling a fusion of a Lagiacrus and a Gigginox, featuring a menacing glowing mouth and a sleek, agile physique that can coil around objects with ease, creating a challenging adversary for players.

Further into the trailer, another large creature was revealed, reminiscent of a colossal pterodactyl capable of summoning lightning attacks. This creature adds to the diverse lineup of monsters that players can expect to encounter in Monster Hunter Wilds.

As the trailer drew to a close, players were teased with exclusive bonuses that can be obtained by importing save data from Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne into Monster Hunter Wilds. This includes special armor sets for the feline companion and additional weapons to enhance the gameplay experience.

While an official release date for Monster Hunter Wilds is yet to be announced beyond 2025, interested players can add the game to their wishlist on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC to stay updated on any new developments.
