The Latest DLC for Dredge: Iron Rig Update

The eerie fishing simulation game Dredge is preparing to release its next DLC on 15th August 2024, known as the ‘Iron Rig’ update.

This upcoming update marks the “second official expansion” for the game, offering a plethora of new content. According to the press release, players can expect a new storyline, additional tiers of equipment, abilities, gadgets, and consumables. Additionally, over 50 new fish species will be introduced, along with a new tier of fishing gear, fresh characters, hazards, lore, and world events.

“The Iron Rig serves as the game’s second premium expansion, prompting players to revisit every area from the original game with a renewed sense of purpose. Designed to be embarked upon at any point during their DREDGE journey, players will collaborate with the Ironhaven Corporation to gather resources for constructing a robust base of operations. This process unlocks new equipment, abilities, gadgets, and consumables.”

“As the drilling activities on the rig escalate, a mysterious presence begins to emerge from the depths. A dark substance starts seeping into once-safe areas of the game, transforming them into dangerous zones. Players must carefully monitor the effects of this enigmatic liquid on the local fish population, uncovering peculiar species from the deep sea as they endeavor to add more than 50 new types of fish to the in-game encyclopedia.”

Players interested in this new expansion can purchase it for $11.99/€11.99/£11.99. Furthermore, a digital complete edition of the game will also be available on 15th August 2024.

For enthusiasts willing to splurge, a Dredge Collector’s Edition will be released in November for £99.99/€99.99/$99.99, with pre-orders already live.

When Dredge initially launched on the Switch last year, it received positive reception from the team here at Nintendo Life, earning a solid eight out of ten rating.
