This Connections puzzle is truly brilliant. Every word is a movie, but with no direct connection between them, it can be quite perplexing. I, too, found myself pondering various connections like common actors or release years, only to realize they were unrelated.

By shifting my perspective, I made progress by identifying the unit of measurement in the blue group as well as the animal theme in the purple group. From there, the rhyming titles in the green group became more apparent, leaving only the New York City places in yellow, which proved challenging for me as a non-local.

What is NYT Connections?

NYT Connections is a popular word game series by the New York Times. It tasks players with identifying groups of four items that share a common link, with varying difficulty levels: green (easy), yellow (moderate), blue (challenging), and purple (very difficult).

You can make up to four mistakes and can infer the final answer through process of elimination, adding a bit of flexibility to the game. Unlike simpler word games, Connections includes tricks like homophones to keep players on their toes.

The game is available for free on desktop and mobile through the NYT Games site.
